Bahirawa kanda Samadhi Buddha statue
Rising up above kandy city and sitting on top of bahirawa
kanda or “ gnome mountain” is the tall, white Samadhi Buddha statue and temple.
The hike up the mountain is recommended just for the amazing view of kandy city
and its environs. The statue itself is hollow and many pilgrims visit the site
to climb the step within the statue that go all the way to the nasal point of
the statue.
